“I can accept failure. But I cannot accept not trying.”
-Michael Jordan
Are you ready for a positive change in your life or marriage? Feeling isolated or overwhelmed with work or family responsibilities and have not found the tools to cope? Struggling due to a life transition, trauma, lack of confidence, or physical challenges such as chronic pain or disability? Seeking help is a brave step, and it can lead to a lifetime of fulfillment. I've faced a near death experience feeling hopeless and helpless. Later on in my growth into a new chapter of my life, I learned that “HOPE” stands for Hold On Pain Ends.
Let’s face it. Life is full of emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual challenges; and together, we can overcome the obstacles you're facing. We'll work as a team to cultivate growth and develop solutions, empowering you or your relationship to take control of your life and achieve your goals. Therapy can lead to greater self-awareness, self-esteem, and a more fulfilling life.
I'm dedicated to helping individuals and couples reach their full potential and revitalizing the human spirit. Whether it’s marriage or relationship issues, trauma, adjusting to a disability, dealing with depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts, we'll find strategies that meet your needs through an integrated mind-body approach. I specialize and am certified in AAP (Animal Assisted Psychotherapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
My positive, solution-focused style is tailor-made for each client. Together, we’ll find personalized solutions to life's challenges. I'm here to support you every step of the way, turning difficult moments into opportunities for growth and strength.

EMDR helps your brain work through painful memories, negative thoughts about yourself, and strong emotions in a safe way. It lowers the emotional intensity of those memories and teaches you tools to stay in control of your life and choices. Instead of automatically reacting to daily situations, you can respond with calm and confidence, feeling in charge of both your emotions and your mind. It’s about taking back control of your life.
Good relationships can be hard to find and keep, whether they last for one year or fifty. It’s important to learn ways to communicate well. This means really listening, working through differences, and acting like a team—passing the ball to each other instead of against each other.
Breaking an addiction can be tough, but with the right help and treatment, recovery is possible. By learning healthy ways to cope and understanding the reasons behind the addiction, people can build lifelong habits to manage stress and handle difficult experiences better.
Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy (AAP) is a powerful approach that combines traditional therapy with the support of animals to create amazing results. The bond between a person and an animal offers safety, comfort, and unconditional support, helping people feel encouraged. Dennis, my loyal German Shepherd, plays a big role in this process. He connects deeply with clients and loves walking beside them as they work through their healing journey, making the experience both comforting and inspiring.
Over 25% of people experience some form of disability throughout their lives, yet many of them hesitate to seek counseling. A significant factor contributing to this reluctance is the lack of adequate training among some therapists and staff members to effectively support the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. This deficiency can make counseling feel unwelcoming or even inaccessible.
James has dedicated years to developing strategies and programs that ensure both Alliance and other counseling centers can provide the most accessible services for everyone. For more information on consultation services, please contact James.

Building optimism, resilience, and a positive mindset doesn’t require dramatic life changes—small, consistent habits can make a big difference. Here are some simple daily practices to help you cultivate these traits:
1. Start the Day Intentionally
2. Practice Mindful Moments

Jimmy has a way of hearing what you say, and explaining it back to you in a positive light, a light to grow under. He has given me the gift of teaching me how I can go forward in life regardless of my physical presence. Jimmy has taught me ways of processing my triggers of deep distrust to any member of the medical field. Jimmy has encouraged and supported me throughout, and at times been the only person who I could honestly share with.

Some significant life changes led to fear, disrupting my day to day. Panic attacks waking me up in the middle of the night became a common occurrence. I was especially upset with how this began impacting my relationship with my wife and kids. Seeing Jimmy helped me work through what was happening in a safe environment. I am especially grateful for the practical tools I've been given. Tools I can use as a rhythm to my life, and tools I can use when I am triggered. It is life changing to be empowered in this way.
